So, I mentioned having new files to post here.

Well, two of them are inspired by my latest obsession. Tron. I loved the movie, the way it looked and sounded was amazing in my opinion and I can wait to see the third installment and animated series.

The two helmets are Clu, and Quorra. Both are the usual price of $8US via paypal(email me first to get the correct paypal address) and both are scaled 1/1 scale.

Morning guys. As promised, here's a link to my new blog!!

CS Props is the name I've given it named after my son Cal Skupinski who passed away back at the end of 2010. I miss him in more ways than even I can fully comprehend so adding his name to the blog and Ebay trader name was just a tiny way to keep him around and honor him.

The blog will showcase all of the things I have, am, and will be making while SPC will be getting a face lift and updates posted to it with the newer Pepakura files I've created recently. CS Prop blog/site will also have a FOR SALE page dedicated to the various items I have in my collection that I frequently decide to sell on to make room for new things.

I've added some pages and posts already but there's still more to add so have a look, check it out and add it to your bookmarked links as there'll be more to see soon.

Hey guys,

Well it's been a VERY long time since my last post here. Sincere apologies for that to those that still visit here looking for news or something new to build.

I will be creating a new blog soon to showcase my various items that I make and sell as well as documenting some commissions and personal builds as I go along. Some will be or have been created using Pepakura so still relevant to this SPC blog. I'll be posting a link as soon as it's up and running.

Also, I have some new files to post here so expect some updates soon.

Thanks to those who still visit and thanks too to those who have come to me over the years for files, help and even commissions. It still means a lot to me to know that people out there like what I do.

Snow Clone Helmet Kit!!!!

The main helmet comes in a two-part form with a face plate and then the dome. These parts are fibreglass. There are also two aerators(with bolts cast inside for easy fitting) and the three grill strips for the mouth. These parts are resin.

Here are some pics:

The aerators as you can see were cast from this aluminium master.
As you may know from the original threads, moulds and casting is taken care of by Mojo-Fett. Anyone who's picked up any of Gav's props and parts already know they're quality, and I can assure you that this helmet kit is no different.

The price is $190 plus shipping. It was originally $225 but since this is the first run I'm doing of one of my helmet builds, I lowered it.

The kit doesn't come with cowl or visor material. I did ask for opinions on this in the WIP threads but the general opinion was that people were happy to take care of those themselves.

Hey guys. A friend of mine is starting out in the prop making world and I want to show some support by posting a link here.

DeltaSquadBoss is an RC costumer right now and has possibly the best "BOSS" armor out there, but is working on his own Mando too. ;) He, Frani(his wife) and Marcus have been working very hard to produce a very nice Mando lid to serve as a generic Mando bucket for custom Mercs.

Custom Mando:Progress!!! Testfitting!

Hello again!

The other night I'd managed to get to a point on my custom Mando where I could testfit my body armor for the first time!!!

I'm thrilled as it fits really well and doesn't prevent my movement too much. There's still more to do but I'm very close to the end now!

Snow Clone Kit Update!

Custom Mando:Progress!!!

Hey guys!

Making progress again on my Mando armor!!

I've been paying a few visits to the 405th lately as those guys generally lead the way in new techniques for making Pepakura armor. ;) They've been talking for a while now about a material they call "Mud" or "Rondo".

I thought I'd give it a go myself today in the hopes it'd speed up my progress and help finish my Mando for a con in November.

Now, basicly. You take 1 part filler(Bondo) and 1 part resin. Mix the too to make a grey(usually) thick liquid, then add the hardener which in most cases is the red paste. The red paste changes the colour of the filler/resin mixture to a dirty pink/red colour. This is great as you know when you've added the right ammount of hardener by checking the colour of the Rondo mixture as you stir it all up.

Now, the mixture is very runny so what they 405th guys say is to simple mask off any areas you don't want covered, then pour the Rondo over the piece to be worked on.

I tried the pour method first and although the result was great, I was very unhappy with the mess and waste caused by the excess run off. So I put the piece asides and mixed up a new batch of Rondo to continue with other pieces or my armor.

This time I applied the Rondo with a brush as it's runny enough I thought to be applied that way.

I started with my chest plate, coverage was good and because the Rondo is thick but runny, the brush strokes quickly vnished as the Rondo spread gently over the piece. There was very little run off and waste. I then continued with the same batch of Rondo to cover my ab plates, shoulders and cod!

Like I said, very little waste and mess, PLUS I covered a load more pieces whereas the first batch(both first and second batches were the same ammount) only covered my butt plate and I wasted loads!

Great news!!!!

You can see the pics above of the butt whcih I've started to sand a little now. You can also see how smooth my other parts are after being Rondo'd with a brush.

The top pic you see was done by a buddy of mine at TDH who took some concept sketches of my armor and a few progress pics and came up with that great artwork of me in my gear!!!!

Ok, dramatic title. LOL!

But I'm trying to finish up commissions and add new files here and this is one of them! This is a Spartan helmet was worn by Leonidas in the awesome movie, 300!

I'm not sure what the proper term is but the "mohawk" at the top is a seperate part so that builders of this one can have either Leonidas or a standard "grunt" Spartan. :)

The modelling's all done and now to unfold it. ;)

Nasty Piece of Work

Yesterday I sold a Darth Revan and Predator armor to a teenager from the US. He wasm't happy with the Revan file as he thinks it looks nothing like it should. I explained that it has been done in a helmet style as that was how the customer who commissioned it wanted it to look but that it could easily be converted to a mask simply by trimming the back of the helmet off. I also explained how the fine details of the Revan were left out as they'd be lost and covered in a layer of filler anyway when you get to that stage but he still complained.

You can't please everyone I guess. I denied a refund on the file as I'd explained that people get to see pics of every file I make prior to buying anything so he should have known what to expect before making the choice to buy it.

This seems to have provoked him into sending offensive emails, saying I told him things that I know I did not say, and even threatening to give my files away to people and claim that he is the original creator. He's also using slightly racist remarks now in his emails which must be the lowest thing he could do.

He's also trying to post nasty comments on my blog here. Good thing I moderate all comments prior to them being posted. ;)

Here are some of his emails:

"By the way seeing how predator file is now mine I'll be posting it everywhere as the artist.
You wanta be a dick fine i'll give your artwork to everyone and claim it's mine both predator mask
and armor ^_~> Enjoy"

"w/e eurotrash i'll be filling a fraud claim.

the pictures all over the net show a mask not a f*cking helmet so yes you did lie

of eurotrash to try this scheme. I guess you won't be the last you have 30 days to refund me my money
as per Wells Fargo or face their lawyers enjoy faggety the theif.

BTW I don't have your files on my computer i fowarded the message to friends and they've

This is the comment he's tried to post here:

"I wouldn't suggest doing buisness with this *sshole. He didn't email me the Dark Raven Helmet. He emailed me some f*cking hello kitty pdo and said haha yank and said I'm stuck with it. I suggest you tell this peice of eurotrash to f*ck off and not do buisness with him. Do buisness with this looser at your own risk have him sign a contract first."

Now, as you guys know I do try to make my files as accurate as possible while keeping them simple and to minimise the difficulty of the builds. None of my files are 100% accurate, I never claim them to be so. To try and build a 100% acurate prop from Pepakura is impossible.

As you guys also know, I post pics of my files here prior to release so everyone gets to see what it looks like before making a choice to buy. No-one is ever under any pressure to buy from me either.

The reason for me originally refusing the refund was because I sell digital files, it is impossible for me to accept a returned item as you would normally when selling an item. I could not know with any certainty that this guy had deleted the files could I? As it turned out later on anyway he did still have them and now threatens to post them everywhere as his own work.

Do you guys think I'm out of line here? Do any of you guys think I'm out here to rip people off? I've sold thousands of files over the last year and everyone except this kid has been happy.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this, just comment. :)

Also, this kid calls himself Outlaw0001 and the first part of his email address is regretfulflyer@...

If any of you guys happen to spot this kid out there trying to pass off my work as his own then I'd appreciate a little email to let me know? There's not much I can do to prevent it but I'd like to know if he does follow through with these silly threats.

I have many friends online who I've met through forums and my blog, it'd be a shame for one silly little boy to spoil it for everyone.

Snow Clone Update!!!

I've give the whole thing a coat of white primer this time to try and give a better idea of how it'll look when painted up. I also used two card discs to simulate the aerators until I get those back from my buddy who's going to turn them on a lathe for me. Also, the visor is black card for now, just for appearance' sake.

Don't pay too much attanetion to the bottom of the cowl. That part of the design is yet to be finalised as I've mainly been focusing on the way it fits over the snout of the face plate. I think it's looking really good. The first attempt was Ok, but I think I've nailed it now. I'm only using a bed sheet(don't tell the wife! LOL!) so I can easily make alterations along the way without wasting vinyl.

The dome and face plate are still two seperate parts, hence the masking tape holding them together for the pics. They'll also be cast this way too.

I thought about just using this build as my costume lid for a while but due to the added weight from modding the dome it's rather heavy now. So, this will be going to Mojo-Fett, a buddy of mine who'll be moulding and casting it for me. We discussed gel coat followed by fibreglass. I'm really looking forward to that!!! Now, I've had a few replies and PM's on the forums asking if I'll be kitting this?? I said then that I'd like to but that I wasn't sure what would be happening but now I know it's going to be moulded and cast for my own costume, I can now say that if the interest is out there for one of these then I'll be happy to arrange extra lids to be cast. It's still early days for prices but as soon as I know I'll post either here or in a new seperate interest thread on the forums. I have a few ideas for a kit so it should be good.

Ok guys,

I'm putting a call out to anyone who has the skills to help me out.

I've wanted my own RC armor for a long time now, when I created my RC templates I thought I'd be able to just build my own. That was why I started the RC project in the first place.

However, time is something I just don't have right now. So, I'm putting a call out for someone who has the skill and time to build me a set of armor. I know this is no small ask and that a lot of time would be involved in doing it. I'm talking about building the templates up, fibreglassing and bondo work to smooth it all out. No paint or finer details as that would be something I can do.

I'm not sure on the cost of this project but if someone did step up to the plate then we could work something out I'm sure. I'm based in the UK so a UK builder would be great to keep shipping costs down but I'll just have to see if anyone responds to my call for help.

LOL! I've just about finished the face of Vader now. I've done it so the basics for a reveal mask are there so people can do either full or reveal. I'm fairly happy with acuracy too at this point, although I'm not saying this is 100% perfect either. I do think the neck needs some more attention too. ;)

Next up will be the completed face and the start of the helmet!

RC Upper Body Armor Build Pics!

Here are two pics of the RC chest and back armor being built by my buddy Tim. I think this looks great and can't wait to see more of it.

The one problem I'm hearing about from people is that the armor doesn't fit most people around the sides where the armor covers the ribs. Not quite sure why this is but it's an easy fix. The main method of solving the problem is to add spacers to bridge the gap between the chest and back plate. The same will probably need to be done to the lower body armor too I'm guessing?? I've yet to recieve feedback for that section.

Anyway I can't wait to see what Tim and everyone else does with their armor builds! I'll post pics later of Tims RC lid that he's been working on. ;)

Hey, not sure if this has been posted on the forums yet but fans of Dead Space can now get the helmet and cutter in 1/1 scale as a "pep file".

I think it looks good from the pic and thought I'd post it here. There's a few other 1/1 scale files there as well as scaled models of various charactr such as Captain America!!

I'm also moving back onto the chest now. As a side note. This armor is being modelled over a female dummy model. That's why you may notice a more feminine look to the butt and thighs and cod pice. Seeing as the character is in fact a woman and also because this commission is for a girl!!! See, girls can play too! LOL!

Ok guys,

Finished this commission finally!!! I'm happy it's done but also very happy with the result! I was worried about pulling this one off a few times. Phew!!

I will say though that this one is NOT for the beginner or those thinking of giving this type of method "a go". It's very tricky around the face particularly those cheeks! The rest such as the dome, mouth and back are pretty straight forward though from what I can gather.

Also, I have no idea how big a true Cylon head would be in 1/1 scale so I've guessed it to be maybe 38cm from chin to peak of the dome. I could be wrong here so I'll be looking for feedback from anyone who knows this figure or from the first few who pick this up and build it.

Anyway, it's available to you all for the usual $8.00.

I got this commission a while back. Too long ago actually but with the baby and one thing or another progress on this one had been delayed.

This morning I decided to make a push to get it done by the end of the day. I'm looking to be on track so far so maybe I'll pull it off.

You'll see a gap around the "cheeks"? That's a tricky part I've found so I'm putting that part off til the end. LOL!

Republic Commando, No wait! IMPERIAL COMMANDO!!!!!

Well after having a quick look at www.karentraviss.com I spotted that the new Karen Traviss Republic Commando book now has cover art!!! The book, titled, STAR WARS: 501st is the 5th book in the Republic Commando series by Karen. Although the Republic is no more and so are the Rep' Com's!! Enter the Imperial Commando!! The book is scheduled for release in Nov 2009.

I had a quick look at the cover art because as soon as I learned of this book I always wondered the same thing. Does the Imperial Commando have different armor than our beloved RC's??!!

It would seem that from the cover art, the armor remains the same from what we can see but the helmet, although very similar still, has a slightly different visor!! The much recognised "T" is still present but there is defenitely a more rounded look to the vertical slit! The visor is also still illuminated so they haven't moved too far away from what we know and love. Phew!

Interesting...

I'd love to know who created the cover art so I may be able to get a better idea of how the visor is meant to look. It now means that a new helmet will be needed for the IC (Imperial Commando). If you know who did it then I'd love to know more. ;)

I can't wait for this book to get released as so much happened at the end of Order 66 that us fans need answers!!! LOL!

For nyone who hasn't read the books yet I strongly recommend you do, you won't be sorry!

As I said lastnight it'll cost $48.00 but you're essentially getting three files free. For those who picked up my helmet file months ago before the armor got done I'll do the Bundle for $40.00. It'd be silly to have to buy it again when you already have it.

Hey guys,

I've got pricing info for the RC Bundle when it gets released in the morning (I doubt I'll have the time to get it out there in full tonight).

In the Bundle you'll get:

RC Helmet,
RC Chest and Back,
RC Lower Torso (cod and butt),
RC Shoulders and Biceps,
RC Gauntlets and Handplates,
RC Thighs,
RC Lower Legs,
RC Backpack.

I'll be keeping weapons seperate.

These items as they're currently priced seperately will cost $72.00 in total. Which may be fine for those who prefer to get the armor in stages and get a new section when they've completed one previously bought from me. However, the bundle price is going to be $ 48.00! So essentially you'll be getting 3 of the sections for free when purchasing the Bundle.

As I said, I doubt I'll have it ready by the end of the evening but tomorrow morning it'll all be ready to go.

I've been thinking recently of releasing my Custom Mando armor. Alot of you seemed to like it here and at the various forums.

I've got little time to finish mine lately so it'd be silly for me to continue to keep it to myself when there may be other budding customs out there who wanted to give my set a try?!

The gauntlets are one file, priced at $5.00 per file and the armor set will include the full body, arm and leg armor and is priced at $16.00 each! A bargain I think when one helmet alone costs half that.

Just finished a commission for the Clone belt boxes/pouches.

I've been making very slow progress lately on all commissions due to family complications. So I need to mention that as delays are expected. I'm sorry about this to all commission customers but I'm afraid there's little I can do about it.

Also, any new/potential commission jobs will be turned down as I can't continue to accept new jobs when some have been waiting as long as they have for me to complete work for them.

Anyway, these pouches are priced the same as my other files. $8.00 each.

Republic Commando: Update!

I've done a little more on the modelling this morning, I'm finding it hard to focus on anything else right now.

I've modelled the armor armor, though the forearms need tweaking and one of the handplates is wrong and will need to be done from scratch as it's different to the opposite hand. ;)

You can't really see it but the biceps have that curve that we discovered. The fact that they're hard to make out under those shoulders is probably why it's been missed for so long??

Anyway, really pleased with it and hw it's shaping up. :)

RC Armor: NEW STARTLING DISCOVERY!!!

Hey guys,

I've been chatting to my good buddy Ruze about the drafts he sent me for the RC arm armor blueprints he's doing for me.Now I thought that he'd made a mistake by drawing the bicep armor with a gradual inclined curved at the top. I mentioned it to him that I'd always believed that this was in fact flat and that there was no curve.He mentioned two pics in our reference that clearly showed it curved so I did some digging and found even more pics showing this. He was right!

It would seem that contrary(sp?) to popular belief that this bicep armor is not flat. Therefore the action figures and even(I'm sorry to say it) 1/1 scale armor kits out there are somewhat inaccurate. Not that I'm bad mouthing these kits at all! The Republic Commando has been done slightly differently by various people for some time now so this is just another inconsistency to add to the list.I think the trouble is that the shoulder plates hide the top of the bicep armor alot of the time and it's easily missed. Like I said, even the 3.75" figures are wrong.

Well you learn something new everyday. Needless to say, I'll be including this curved top to my armor when I model it. It'll be nice to be a little different.

Evening to you all. :)

Well, this is where I am so far on the RC armor. I wasn't sure about a few areas until I looked at the model in Pepakura and I'm now really happy with this so far!

The cod/ab and butt/lumber plates are two seperate objects that have been modelled so that the built parts should slot together when being put on for a better fit that should hide the seams better. ;)

It's been a really exciting day to model this! I know some might think I need to get out more! LOL! But I've been waiting a long time to start this project so it's been great to steal a day to work on this rather than commissions. Hey! It's my birthday! :)

Anyway, hope it looks as good to you guys as it does to me. :)

Well, today is my 30th!! So I wanted to do something. My choices are limited as I'm home alone with the kids as the wife couldn't get time off work so when I had some quiet time I decided to sit down and start modelling the RC armor!!

No pics yet, although progress is fairly good. I started with the butt/lower back and the cod/ab plate. Pics will follow at some point. ;)

Got the body armor done this morning. I'm following the lead figures for that part as I've noticed inconsistencies between those, Games Workshop artwork and the ingame models from Dawn of War.

I'm happy with this so I'll move onto the shoulders and gauntlets now.

Clone Trooper Armor: Update

Morning guys,

I was looking at the Clone armor I've been working on this morning and came to a decision. I'm going to completely remodel it myself and scrap the previous model.

The original model I used was not accurate. Quite far from it actually since I've been studying the armor reference for the project. Also, the wireframe is still far too complex to be good for making templates. Also I don't think certain parts of it would have fit a real human being as things like the wrists and ankles were far too narrow.

This will put a big extension on when the armor is finally ready for everyone but it will mean better templates in the end. ;)

Just Discovered Something: Galactic Marine Leg Armor

I've just confirmed something that I'd thought for a while. The leg armor for the Galactic Marine is in fact identical to that worn by the Kashyyk Trooper/BARC Trooper.

So now you can use my templates to make either GM or KT armor. :) BONUS!!!

Just finished the GM leg armor. Pretty simple really as the main detail in these is functional via two straps that go around them. In the 3D model I just added a slight channel where these straps go.

A good friend of mine has decided to launch his own blog. Gene is a costumer but also one of his other hobbies is to make custom 1/6th scale figures. What's better is that they're all Star Wars!! So lots of Clones!

I only got to know him recently but he's a great guy and does great work! Check out his airborne clone in the above pic!

His current project is to sculpt from scratch, the helmet and soon the armor for the Republic Commando!! IN 1/6 SCALE!!! He's off to a great start too as you can see. I can't wait to see how the rest turns out!

Anyway, I just wanted to give him a shout out and post a link for anyone interested in seeing what he's up to there. It's new so not too much to see yet but he has alot to show. ;)

Hi,

I've just finished modelling the GM leg armor. I wasn't happy with the way it looked in the last update so re worked some areas. I'm finally happy now so I'll look to get these unfolded and ready for anyone interested tomorrow. ;)

I'm considering doing the boot armor for this guy next though not sure if it's such a great idea as they obviously won't fit every type of boot out there so may be wise to leave those out and carry on with the chest and back maybe??

I modelled the shin armor for the GM yesterday. I'm not sure about the two strips that go round the armor. In my reference it looks like this may be actual strapping that's functional so I may need to get rid of this for accuracy.

RC Armor Blueprints: Update!

Another update today!

My good friend Jim has sent me a really tasty update on his RC armor blueprints. The pencil work for the main body and leg armor is now complete! He still has the arm and hand armor to do but this is a great taste of what he can do!

I can't wait to start this RC project now seeing as I've wanted to make my own RC for a couple of years! I know there are alot of you out there that want to see this one done too so I'll try not to let you down.

I'll need to finish off some commission work first to allow me some time for this one but pretty soon I hope we'll start to see this project well underway!

Galactic Marine Helmet: Complete and Available!

I've finished the Galactic Marine helmet and it's now available to you all.

I scaled this to a default height of 27cm as I don't know how big an actual prop of this helmet is just yet. If anyone knows what it i then let me know and I'll update the templates to make them correct. In the meantime anyone who does try this one needs to know it'll involve some possibly trial and error in getting the scale right.
